• Confirm that the email address being registered is valid by sending a single email containing a security key
• Wait for the Customer to return to the site and confirm the security key, and Opt-In to the service

This simple process stops automated processes or unscrupulous individuals from using our customer sites for spam purposes (each email address will only receive ONE email containing the security key). the act of confirming the security key demonstrates that the subscriber is the valid owner of the email account, and because it is a deliberate act by the subscriber, demonstrates the subscriber has Opted In to the chosen service.

Customer / Member Areas

With a customer or members area, you can securely provide access to additional information to customers, that you might not want give to everyone through the public site. For example, on our website, we have a What's New Blog. The blog entries and customer comments are available for everyone to read, but only subscribed members of our site and mailing list can add comments to the blog. A members area is a simple and effective way of restricting access to functionality or content to only those to whom you want to provide it (Customer Order History, Digital Product Download areas, etc).
